Development OUTREACH is a flagship magazine in the field of global knowledge for development which reflects the learning programs of the World Bank and presents a range of viewpoints by renowned authors and specialists worldwide. The magazine is designed to occupy a middle ground between the scholarly journal and the general interest magazine. Articles on complex topics are written in a transparent language accessible to the general reader.

Editorial Profile

The publication is guided by an international editorial board culled from the private sector, development community at large and academia. The board ensures that the publication remains on the cutting edge in the coverage of the most pressing and controversial issues of the day.

Readership

The magazine is published three times a year, and distributed to the current WBI alumni list comprised of 20,000 readers in more than 130 countries, reaching a diverse audience of business leaders, policy makers, government officials, academics, journalists, research institutions, and practitioners in the field. Over time, it is expected that the readership will grow beyond the current WBI alumni to reach an even broader audience. The print version in the near future will be published in three additional languages: French, Spanish and Russian. The foreign-language editions will include regional inserts.

Interactive Version

The interactive nature of the online version is meant to expand the reach of the World Bank's programs to those unable to physically attend training courses and other learning activities. Participation is welcome through email to the Editor, contributions to the Voices from the Field department, feedback on articles, and dialogues hosted by the Development Forum.
