The Effective Schools and Teachers Thematic Group aims to contribute to the effectiveness of World Bank education projects through a focus on teaching and learning, by pursuing two specific objectives:

Developing an internal and external community of practice on teaching and learning.

Furthering a knowledge base which supports best practice.

The Knowledge Resource Base
A knowledge base about ways of creating the conditions for effective teaching and learning in schools which has been designed to assist task managers, practitioners, program designers and decision makers in their efforts to promote the best practice in education quality improvement programs around the world.

This site has been developed in collaboration with the UK Department for International Development
and the National Foundation for Educational Research for England and Wales
