Resources on Effective Schools and Teachers

This site is a knowledge base about ways of creating the conditions for effective teaching and learning in schools which has been designed to assist task managers, practitioners, program designers and decision makers in their efforts to promote the best practice in education quality improvement programs around the world.

The site is divided into two main areas. The first introduces key ideas about effective schooling and teaching. It then examines the basis for ideas of effectiveness in education.

The second area provides specific information about effective schools and teachers under eight domains.

In each of these areas there is an introductory front page and at the bottom there are links to supporting information. The supporting information is categorized under six types:

Topic Articles
Short papers giving an overview of a information on the topic area

Case studies
Detailed accounts of interventions or activities in particular countries

Checklists and other Tools
Example documents, checklists of key ideas, conceptual frameworks, ...

References and bibliographic resources
Bibliographies, annotated references organised by theme

Training and Presentations
Write ups of presentations or reports of seminars and trainings hosted by the Effective Schools and Teachers thematic group.
