Taxpayers Associations in Developing and Transition
Countries Network

The project “Taxpayers Associations in Developing and Transition Countries Network” brought together 13 national taxpayers associations from East European and Central Asian countries, including all 27 regional associations in Ukraine, and several West European taxpayers associations. The pictures are from a conference in Kiev, Ukraine (February 8-10, 2002) that included presentations by participating taxpayers associations. Discussions focused on issues such as major problems of taxpayers in transition economies; cooperation with tax administration; taxpayer services; taxpayer education; recruiting new members; and fund raising.

A key result of the conference was the establishment of an "International Committee for the Protection of Taxpayer Rights in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.”

This network will serve as a vehicle for cooperation among taxpayers associations.
