Distance Learning

The Bank is using the latest technology to connect the developing world with worldwide knowledge and expertise. Learning centers at universities, institutes, and other organizations throughout the world are able to link up with the Bank to offer courses, seminars, and "global dialogues" fostering the free exchange of information. These time sensitive, cost-effective electronic classrooms provide access to knowledge via satellite technology, video teleconferencing, and the Internet.

As part of this effort, the Decentralization and Subnational Regional Economics thematic group has organized a series of videoconferences on decentralization in the social sectors.
