Tools for Regional Analysis
How does
economic analysis at the subnational regional level differ from that at
the national macroeconomy? What are the modern tools for economic analysis
at the subnational regional level?
In this section,
we present material on several models for economic analysis at the subnational
regional level currently used by a wide range of authorities from city
and state governments to the European Commission. A survey of the more
traditional models (e.g. shift-share analysis, input-output, and economic
base models) is presented, along with several recent developments in CGE
modeling for regions and current applications.
