Child
labor in East Asia and Pacific is documented as
being less extensive than in other parts of the
developing world. The rapid decrease in the
supply of child labor can be attributed to
strong government commitment and policies to
ensure basic education for all. There remain,
however, significant concerns in a number of
these countries for the worst forms of child
labor, including significant street children and
youth-at-risk behavior. Most of the literature
and projects links provided below describe
interventions targeting youth-at-risk and street
children, as well as targeted education/safety
net programs to prevent the risk of families
using child labor to cope with economic crises.
